Children (5 - 15): $5
Under 5: FREE
Family: $30 (2 Adults, 3 children)
Senior Citizens (65+): $10
*Rides, food and stall holders goods not included.
General show information
We have one day of tough competition for livestock including Dairy, Sheep, Beef and Pigs as well as Boy's & Girl's Pet Lambs and Calves. Shearing and Woolhandling competitions will be held, along with Alpacas on display for public viewing. Equestrian Showing and Show Jumping classes on are on both the 4th and 5th of November.
The very popular Farrier competitions are back for the two days – come and admire the wonderful skills and endurance needed in the art of shoeing horses.
Horse measuring is by appointment only with Mr John Wall. Dates for 2017 are Sunday 27th August and Sunday 10th September. Please contact him to arrange 06 329 3743 or 027 445 1900.
Professional shearers will compete for their top titles and participate in live demonstrations, giving the public a chance to experience shearing up close and personal.
Dog Obedience & agility
We have fantastic Dogs displaying their talents in Obedience, Agility, working sheep, guiding the blind, Search & Rescue and all the businesses specialising in pampering your pooch.
Exhibits and Stalls
This year we feature a new section – Home Hands and Leisure, with entries from the local community displaying their talents for arts and crafts. We also have many exhibitors from local and regional businesses showcasing their products and services, offering Show Day Specials for attendees.
We have over 50 quality stalls ranging from crafts and clothing, to jewellery and art, and everything in between, with a strong focus on locally made or produced products.

A fun filled specialty area inside the stadium made just for the kids! Farm World activity area includes a hands on area for your child to experience the joy of animals from calves and lambs to goats, chickens and ostriches. There are also chances to play in the woolpit and dig in the sand – something for everyone to enjoy!

Mahons amusements are back and better than ever. With many of the best rides and sideshow games, there is entertainment for the entire family!
Western Districts RAS Stock Judging in conjunction with NZ Young Farmers
The RAS Western District Young Judge’s Competition and Manawatu - Taranaki Young Farmers Selection Day. Competitors will be faced with the challenge of judging Beef, Dairy, Sheep and Fleeces. The Western District will select their representatives to compete at the 2017 RAS Young Judges Finals to be held at the Royal A&P Show in Hastings. The Manawatu – Taranaki Young Farmers Representative will go to the 2018 Young Farmer Grand Final.
